HAGAMAN JOINS FORMER MATES AT UWRF

Another RoadRunner forward has committed to a college program, as Alec Hagaman has cemented his plans to attend the University of Wisconsin at River Falls beginning this fall.

A solid contributor in each of his two seasons in Topeka, the 6\’1\” 195 lb. forward from Peoria, IL finished the 2009-10 season second on the team in scoring with 29 goals and 26 assists along with an even 100 PIM\’s and a +10 rating. While his college major is as of yet undecided, he is excited about entering the next phase of his playing career. What\’s the greatest thing about heading off to college?  \”I would have to say that being able to keep the dream going longer and having another shot at getting a ring\”, said Hagaman.

His time in Topeka, like many of his teammates was filled with great memories and personal growth.  \”My greatest memory as a RoadRunner would be when we sold out the place and I got two goals and first star of the game\”, he said, adding, \”Also being able to break as many records as we did in the two years I was there.\”

Arriving as an 18-year old and leaving as a 20-year old, Hagaman experienced changes both as a person and as a player. \”I\’d say the biggest change in my life would be just growing up, being on my own and also becoming a much better hockey player thanks to good coaching and great players around me.\” It\’s an experience he feels up and coming players will enjoy and benefit from as well. He offers some advice for any player who wants to come play in Topeka; \”It\’s a great time. You\’re going to have to work hard, block shots and be ready to bring your all every day. And just know that being a RoadRunner is an honor.\”

Hagaman becomes the third RoadRunner this season to commit to the UWRF Falcons, joining Martin Sundstedt and Jeff Burke. The trio will see plenty of familiar faces as three other former teammates are already Falcons (Andy Inderieden, Caleb Wolfgram, and Lyle Rocker).
