HANSON BROTHERS TO ARRIVE ON JAN 5TH
Put on the foil, RoadRunner fans, the infamous Hanson Brothers are coming to town!
The controversial trio, known as the scourge of the Federal League, has been signed for a one-game contract when the Topeka RoadRunners host the Southern Minnesota Express on Saturday, January 5. The puck (and maybe a few gloves) drops at 7 p.m. at the Kansas Expocentre.
Fans won’t want to miss the action as the Hanson Brothers get the team fired up in warm-ups and player introductions. The brothers will then be back on the ice during the intermissions and signing autographs throughout the night.
The Hanson Brothers were made famous in the 1977 movie Slapshot, which starred Paul Newman. In the movie the Charlestown Chiefs were a losing hockey team on the verge of folding, until they get the Hanson Brothers. The trio, who has a violent approach to the game, turns the team around and fills the stands with fight loving fans.
Thirty years after the release of the movie the trio still has the same approach when it comes to entertaining. The brothers will harass the opponents, the refs, fans, and anyone else who gets in their way to assure the crowd is having a good laugh and a good time.
Tickets range from $6.50-$15.50 for all home games and can be purchased at all Ticketmaster locations including the Kansas Expocentre Box Office, or by calling 297-1000 or online at ticketmaster.com.
