RUNNERS REACQUIRE TOM “HIT MAN” KLEIDON

The Topeka RoadRunners announced today they have reacquired defenseman Tom “Hit Man” Kleidon from the Tri City Storm of the USHL.

“No question, having Tom Kleidon in our lineup makes us a better team,” said Scott Langer, RoadRunners head coach. “We feel pretty good about our defensive corps.”

The 6’0”, 180 lb. Kleidon, from White Bear Lake, MN, played last season for the RoadRunners in Santa Fe where he earned a reputation for feisty play and bone-jarring hits. He registered 2 goals and 9 assists along with 107 PIM’s in his rookie season. In 9 games with Tri City, he racked up 20 PIM’s despite being held off the scoresheet. “The points will come for Tom”, Langer said. “What he brings us is an added element of grit and heart coupled with veteran experience that you just don’t find every day”. Tom’s old teammates from last year were happy to see him as well, as he skated with the RoadRunners at practice on Wednesday afternoon.

Details of the trade were not announced. Kleidon is expected to be in uniform on Friday night at the Kansas Expocentre when the RoadRunners face Wichita Falls.
