ROADRUNNER ALUM NABS CHA HONORS

by Arch Ecker

Whenever he touched the puck for the Topeka RoadRunners, Jordan George caught peoples attention because more often than not, something exciting was about to happen. His on-ice successes have carried over into his collegiate career, and he was recognized this week by College Hockey America by first being named to the All-Rookie Team, and ultimately being named the Rookie of the Year for the CHA.

From the CHA website: "George busted onto the CHA scene and has been a force for the nationally-ranked Beavers. George has scored 13 goals, 20 assists and 33 points for the Beavers, a point total which not only is the second highest on the team, but the most amongst rookies in the CHA. The freshman is currently fourth in the nation in points per game amonst rookies, while tied for 64th in the nation in overall points per game."

In two seasons with the RoadRunners George racked up 41 goals and 73 assists for 114 points in 129 games. His feisty style of play led to 249 PIM's as well. After working his way into a spot on the power play, he posted 42 power play points and also managed a career +28 rating.

He is joined at Bemidji State by two other former RoadRunners, Matt Hartmann and Ben Kinne.
