Tyler Groat would finish off the scoring for the visitors with a netter at 13:25 (assisted by Peter Halash and Jake Kamrass) and the Runners led the game 4-0. Trace Jablin of the Jackalopes provided Odessa's lone brightspot in the game with a goal at 18:23 but the damage was done. The second and third periods flew by with no further scoring and the RoadRunners took the first of this three-game series 4-1.
